TURBULENT REVERIE AND COSMOPOLITAN TRANCE

Sarkaba is a fledgling project featuring Peul flute virtuoso and Mandingo multi-instrumentalist Dramane Dembélé, who has performed with the likes of Magic Malik and St Germain, prophetess singer Romane Claudel-Ferragui, the voice of Lolomis, keyboardist Cong-Minh Pham (Yasmine Hamdan, Sarah Lenka, Matekita…) and drummer Stéphane Scharlé, who has been touring the world for 20 years with his explosive jazz quintet OZMA.

After a first meeting on stage ten years ago, the twin brothers, twin brothers 5 days apart, got together to create an experimental duo. Their taste for electronic sounds led them to add numerous effects to their acoustic instruments, enabling them to travel into unsuspected sound worlds. Joined by Romane’s unique voice and Minh’s electronic colors, the music they create over the course of their sessions evokes desert landscapes at two moons, electropical ambiances at sunset…
